Questions
How many games are in a round robin?
With n teams, a single round robin has n × (n − 1) ÷ 2 games, and each team plays n − 1 of them. Eight teams play 28 games; ten teams play 45.
How many rounds does a round robin take?
With an even number of teams, n − 1 rounds with every team playing each round. With an odd number, n rounds, and one team has a bye in each round.
How does this generator make the pairings?
It uses the circle method: one team stays fixed while the others rotate one spot each round. That guarantees every pair meets exactly once and no team plays twice in a round.
